Application Pending, Starring Christina Bianco, Will Make Its World Premiere Off-Broadway

For some, it’s kindergarten. For these parents, it’s war! Application Pending will receive its world premiere off-Broadway, starring Christina Bianco (Forbidden Broadway) in forty roles. Penned by Greg Edwards along with Andy Sandberg and directed by Sandberg, the production will begin previews on January 26, 2015. The comedy will play a limited engagement through April 19, with opening night set for February 10 at the Westside Theatre.

Christine Evans (Bianco) is a kindergarten assistant at Edgely Prep, an elite Manhattan private school with an acceptance rate that puts Harvard’s to shame. On the day applications are due, Edgely’s head of admissions is ousted in a scandal, and Christine is unexpectedly thrust into the job. With phones ringing off the hook, Christine must balance beleaguered applicants, venal administrators and an army of parents who will stop at nothing to get their kids in.

Application Pending will feature scenic design by Colin McGurk, costume design by Michael McDonald, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by Bart Fasbender.
